Jonathan Majors Lands Lead Role in Marvel’s “Ant-Man 3”

Jonathan Majors will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a lead role in the next Ant-Man film.

The Lovecraft Country actor is set to star opposite Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Kang the Conqueror, a time-traveling super-villain. Payton Reed will be returning to direct the film.

The original Ant-Man was released in 2015 and it grossed $500 million at box offices globally. The follow-up Ant-Man and the Wasp was released in 2018 and it earned $632 million at box offices worldwide.

Majors has made quite the mark in the summer of 2020 appearing in Spike Lee’s war drama Da 5 Blood playing one of the sons of the Army unit that goes back to Vietnam to search for gold and fallen leader as well as in HBO’s Lovecraft Country as the lead role of Atticus.

His other credits include starring in Hostiles, White Boy Rick, When We Rise, and The Last Black Man in San Francisco, the last of which he earned a Gotham Award nomination and a supporting actor nod at the 2020 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

Major’s next role is in The Harder They Fall, which is in production, and he’ll be starring with Idris Elba, Ry Cyler, Laz Alsonso, Regina King, Zazie Beetz, Lakeith Stanfield, Edi Gathegi, and Lindo.
