It is possible that Julianne Moore could have been in line for another Oscar nomination this year.

The Kingsman: The Golden Circle star has revealed that she was originally cast as the lead in Can You Ever Forgive Me?

As we now know, the biopic about fraudulent writer Lee Israel starred Melissa Mccarthy in the lead role, earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

So why was Julianne not a part of the drama? Apparently due to drama off-screen…

“I didn’t leave that movie, I was fired,” the 58-year-old said. “Nicole [Holofcener] fired me. So yeah, that’s the truth.”

The Enough Said director wrote the screenplay for Can You Ever Forgive Me? And was initially set to helm the film until she was replaced by Marielle Heller who cast Melissa.

“I think she didn’t like what I was doing,” Julianne explained to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. “I think that her idea of where the character was, was different than where my idea of where the character was, and so she fired me.”

The actress admitted that she has not seen the film, which was nominated for three Oscars, because it is “too painful”.
