The Jurassic World franchise is alive and well, and its next sequel will be one star-studded affair. The first look at Jurassic World Rebirth is here, and it sees Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey getting ready to face the dinosaurs.
The latest installment in the Jurassic World franchise will take place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion when the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.
“Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind,” reads the film’s official logline.
Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey lead the cast as covert ops expert Zora Bennett and paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, who are leading a top-secret mission to secure DNA from the world’s three most massive dinosaur species left alive.
The cast will also include the two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team leader, plus Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Ed Skrein in supporting roles.
Jurassic World Rebirth was directed by Gareth Edwards, and it will be released by Universal Pictures on July 2, 2025.
