Katy Perry has been teasing her next era for quite some time, and she finally made things official. She announced that her sixth studio album 143 is coming our way this September, and the long-awaited “Woman’s World” will serve as its lead single.
Perry spent months dropping hints about her potential comeback, and things got serious when she announced her exit from The American Idol earlier this year. She revealed she’s been working on new music that comes from a place of pure love and joy, and it was just a matter of time before she officially announced its release.
That moment is finally here, and we now know her next album will be titled 143, a colloquial term for “I Love You.” It will be released on September 20 via Capitol Records, and “Woman’s World” will serve as its first single.
Perry shared more details about 143 in an Instagram Live and said it was born out of her idea to make a dance album and an acoustic album, before eventually settling on one of them.
“I finally made the dance album, the album I always wanted to make… This record is super high energy, it’s super summer, it’s very high BPM. We just had a family dance party to one of the songs, and it’s just full of so much joy, so much love, so much light,” she explained.
