There’s a lot of mystery surrounding Star Wars: Episode IX, and we’re finally getting some good news. Golden Globe winner Keri Russell will reportedly be playing an “action-heavy” role in the upcoming movie.

Not much is known about her character, but fans already made a couple of suggestions. Some believe she’ll be playing the mother of trilogy’s central character Rey. Her heritage has been one of the most burning questions ever since The Force Awakens premiered. Fans were hoping it will be revealed that she’s related to the Skywalkers, but The Last Jedi crushed their dreams. Episode IX might provide us with some answers, but let’s not jump to conclusions just yet.

Keri Russell and Daisy Ridley may look like a mother and daughter, but that doesn’t mean they’ll take on those roles in the upcoming movie. Russell proved she can do pretty much anything over the course of the last two decades. J.J. Abrams was the one who gave her the first major role in Felicity and it will be exciting to see them team up after all those years. The actress said she’s waiting for his call all the way back in 2013 when it was announced he’ll be directing The Force Awakens. The call finally came, and we can’t wait to see her in a role of a badass space hero.
