The Knives Out franchise is a gift that keeps on giving, and it seems that Benoit Blanc is finally gearing up to solve another mystery. Daniel Craig will return as our favorite detective in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, set to premiere sometime in 2025.
There’s an air of mystery surrounding this project, and its writer/director Rian Johnson shared nothing but its title with the world. We know that Daniel Craig will be back as Benoit Blanc, and it’s safe to expect he’ll solve another whodunit murder mystery involving a group of quirky characters since the previous two films in this franchise followed the same premise.
It’s unlikely that any of the previous characters would make an appearance, with the expectations of Blanc, since Johnson always saw Knives Out films as standout mysteries.
“Part of the fun of these things is the idea that they’re not sequels, they’re completely new books and they’re completely new stories… It’s not about trying to top the previous one, it’s about just trying to create something that surprises us and thus hopefully will surprise the audience,” he told Variety.
Knives Out kicked off this franchise in 2019, before Netflix acquired the rights for two sequels for $469 million, including Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which premiered on this streaming service in 2022.
