Christopher Nolan’s film wouldn’t be the same without their star-studded ensemble, and he’s assembling an epic cast for his next project. Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o is the latest acclaimed actress to board his next project, joining the likes of Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Anne Hathaway.
Nolan is fresh off directing the historical epic Oppenheimer, which won seven Oscars at this year’s Academy Awards, including best picture and best director. Expectations are running high for its follow-up, but not much is known about it yet, apart from the fact it will be released by Universal Pictures on July 17, 2026.
Matt Damon, who recently starred in Nolan’s Oppenheimer, was the first star attached to this project when it was initially announced. Its star-studded cast is getting bigger by the day, and Damon was closely followed by Tom Holland (Spider-Man), plus Zendaya (Euphoria) and Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables), who joined the cast just last week.
Lupita Nyong’o is the latest A-list star to board this project, and she’s best known as Nakia from Black Panther and Patsey from 12 Years a Slave, for which she won an Academy Award for best supporting actress. She’s fresh off starring in A Quiet Place: Day One and voicing the animated film The Wild Robot.
