We can always count on Mariah Carey to ring in the holiday season with her song “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, and she didn’t disappoint this year. This timeless holiday classic returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart just in time for Christmas.

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” was originally released as one of the songs from Carey’s 1994 album Merry Christmas and experienced a true resurgence in the past few years. It hit No. 1 for the first time in 2019 and returned to the top of the charts again in 2020.

It’s Billboard Hot 100 reign continues this year, and Carey never stops being surprised by its success.

“We’re celebrating. This type of news, it’s never like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m so bored of this news.’ To have another Billboard Hot 100 with a song that means so much to me, I can’t even, I can’t — I literally don’t know what to say,” said the singer in a voice note shared on social media.

Carey leads another Billboard Hot 100 chart filled with holidays classics, and “All I Want For Christmas” is only one of six songs to make the top 10. It’s closely followed by Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” at no. 2 and Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” at No. 4.
