Marie Osmond’s time as the co-host of The Talk turned out to be much shorter than anyone expected. Osmond announced on Wednesday that she is leaving the show after just one season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Osmond made the decision to depart The Talk in order to focus on business ventures. The popular country singer currently has several projects lined up for the future, including a new studio album and an original show with ViacomCBS.

Osmond confirmed her departure from The Talk via a statement posted on social media, saying, “One of the highlights of my year at The Talk was working with my dear friend John Redmann, and I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing.”

Marie Osmond’s exit comes just weeks before Season 11 of The Talk is scheduled to enter production.

Deadline reports that the producers will kick off the taping with the remaining lineup of hosts that includes rapper Eve, television personality Carrie Ann Inaba, reality TV star Sharon Osbourne, and comedian Sheryl Underwood. However, the search for a new co-host is ongoing, and Osmond’s replacement is expected to join in at some point in the season.
