Marvel just dropped the first teaser trailer for its highly-anticipated superhero flick Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and it’s safe to say that we are in for a wild ride.

The teaser opens with a voiceover that warns Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) about the dangers of casting the spell that opened the multiverse and caused the villains from other universes to invade the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Your desecration of reality will not go unpunished,” says the voice.

The trailer continues with shots of the chaos that is about to ensue before transitioning to Doctor Strange seeking out Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) to help him undo his tampering with the multiverse. We also see the return of Karl Mordo, a former member of Masters of the Mystic Arts, and get introduced to the dark version of Doctor Strange.

Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness serves as a sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange. The movie follows the events that took place in Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which Doctor Strange appears in a prominent role, and the first season of the Disney+ series Loki.

The movie is scheduled to be in theaters on May 6, 2022. Check out the teaser in full below.
