Marvel movies are always worth waiting for, no matter how many years pass between them, and Thor: Love and Thunder is a great example. The first trailer for this highly-anticipated blockbuster is finally here and it’s everything we wanted—and more!

Guns N’ Roses’ smash-hit “Sweet Child o’ Mine” serves as a perfect soundtrack for this epic trailer, that invites us back into Thor’s world. The God of Thunder is convinced that his “superheroing days are over”, but that’s not what the universe has in store.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) wants to use his hands as “humble tools for peace”, but that’s impossible since the sinister villain the God Butcher (Christian Bale) stands in his way. He must stop him from eliminating all gods with the help of Jane Foster/The Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson).

The first trailer also reunites Thor with the Guardians of the Galaxy, played by Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan, among others. Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, and Taika Waititi as Korg are also set to reprise their roles from the previous Thor movies.

Waititi was also in charge of directing Thor: Love and Thunder, which is scheduled to be released on July 8, as part of Marvel’s Phase Four.
