Netflix has given us one of their very best animated shows with Disenchantment, but all good things must come to an end. The new trailer for Season 5 teased Bean’s next epic adventure, while also revealing this will be the last chapter of this story.

Disenchantment was developed by The Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening, and it’s set in the fictional, medieval European kingdom of Dreamland. The fantasy comedy series follows the misadventures of a hard-drinking rebellious princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci, as they journey through Dreamland.

Netflix’s official logline described the fifth season of Disenchantment as the biggest one yet, adding that Bean’s final misadventure will be the greatest one of all.

“To save Dreamland from Queen Dagmar’s wrath, Princess Bean must vanquish her mother and outrun a prophecy that foretells she will kill the one she loves… Every decision. Every victory. Every loss… it’s all led to this. So saddle up, and drink up,” reads Netflix’s logline.

The voice cast of this series includes Abbi Jacobson, Eric André, Nat Faxon, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille, Matt Berry, Maurice LaMarche, and Sharon Horgan. They’ll be back when Disenchantment returns for Season 5 on September 1.
