Laura Dern and Margaret Qualley both found success through their past Netflix projects, and they’ll soon star in another one. Taylor Jenkins Reid’s hit novel Forever, Interrupted is getting its TV adaptation, with these two acclaimed actresses in the lead roles.
Written for Netflix by Julia Bicknell, Forever, Interrupted will center on a whirlwind romance between Elsie and Ben, which quickly takes a tragic turn. Months into their marriage, Elsie must deal with immense grief after Ben tragically dies, but that’s just the start of her troubles.
Elsie must also face her mother-in-law Susan, who wasn’t even aware of her existence, but their at-first turbulent connection will ultimately bring them to cathartic new beginnings.
Forever, Interrupted will be told through dual timelines, and A24 is coming on board as the studio behind this project. Author Taylor Jenkins Reid will serve as one of its executive producers alongside Dern, Qualley, Jessica Rhoades, Alison Mo Massey, Brad Mendelsohn, Jayme Lemons, and Brett Hedblom.
Margaret Qualley previously found success with the role in Netflix’s mini-series Maid, for which she received an Emmy nomination. As for Laura Dern, she won an Oscar for her supporting turn in Netflix’s Marriage Story, while her recent TV roles include Big Little Lies, Twin Peaks, and Palm Royale.
