Netflix Renews “Atypical”

Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Rapaport, Keir Gilchrist, and Brigette Lundy-Paine in "Atypical"

Unconventionality is in!

Netflix has confirmed that it is renewing its show Atypical for a third season.

The dramedy follows 18-year-old Sam who is trying to find his place in life with love and independence — all the while being on the autism spectrum.

Keir Gilchrist of It’s Kind of a Funny Story plays the teenager, while The Hateful Eight actress Jennifer Jason Leigh plays his mom, and Sully star Michael Rapaport takes on the role of his dad.

The series first premiered on the streaming network in 2017 and consisted of 8 episodes.

The show’s popularity was evidenced when Netflix increased the second season’s episode count to 10 when it released on September 7th 2018.

Less than two months later, fans have received assurance of a third season about the Gardner family with another 10 episodes expected next year.
