Netflix Renews “Stranger Things”

Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and Noah Schnapp in "Stranger Things."

It took almost four months, but Stranger Things has finally been renewed!

While there was little doubt that the Netflix series would be returning, the streaming service has only just confirmed a fourth season.

“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Netflix,” said series creators, the Duffer Brothers. “Ted Sarandos, Cindy Holland, Brian Wright and Matt Thunell took a huge chance on us and our show — and forever changed our lives. From our first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, the entire team at Netflix has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance, and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together — beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!”

Season 3 ended with Eleven leaving Hawkins with the Byers following Hopper’s death.

The new season’s teaser states, “We’re Not In Hawkins Anymore.” Eeek.

The Duffers have also signed a multi-year film and series with Netflix that is being compared to that agree to by Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Stranger Things is expected to return next summer.
