Nicholas Galitzine is one of Hollywood’s shiniest rising stars, and he just landed his biggest role yet. After starring in several hit Amazon Prime Video movies, Amazon MGM tapped the young actor to play He-Man in Mattel’s live-action film Masters of the Universe.

Travis Knight is coming on board to direct the new version of Masters of the Universe, from a script by Chris Butler. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but this project already has a release date, and it’s expected to hit the theaters on June 5, 2026.

Galitzine took to social media to confirm his casting and share excitement about playing this iconic character.

“I’m so beyond proud to announce that I will be playing Adam, Prince of Eternia in Masters of the Universe. It has been a dream for so long to play someone of his heart, humor, and heroism, I cannot wait to get started,” he wrote on Instagram.

Galitzine will have to play against the type in this project, but his casting isn’t a huge shocker given the success of his previous collaborations with Amazon. He’s best known as the star of Prime Video’s rom-coms Cinderella, The Idea of You, and Red, White & Royal Blue, in addition to starring in the historical drama Mary & George and films Bottoms and Purple Hearts.
