Universal Pictures and Sentient Entertainment is remaking the 2001 horror classic starring Nicole Kidman and directed by Alejandro Amenabar.

The Others, set in 1945 in a remote country house on the British island of Jersey, centers around Nicole Kidman’s Grace Stewart discovering that there are “others” in her home. Her suspicion is confirmed after one of her children says that they saw a group of people in their home who claim that “the house is theirs.”

The haunted house film was a box office success, with only a $17 million budget and grossing over $200 million. The Others won seven of Spain’s Goya Awards, including best film and best director.

Details for the remake are still under wraps and it’s unknown if the film will keep to the original storyline. According to insiders, execs are meeting with writers to adapt the script.
