We’ve been waiting for Normani to drop her solo album ever since Fifth Harmony split up and it seems that moment is closer than ever. The R&B star recently discussed her progress on this record with Ciara and said that her debut solo album is “almost done”.

Normani joined Ciara while she was guest-hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show and she took a moment to share her plans for the future. She revealed that her first solo album is “almost done” but admitted it took a lot of work to reach this point.

“People underestimate how hard it is and how much effort we put into one project, one body of work. And coming out of a girl group, there was a lot that I hard to figure out about myself and fears that I had to deal with head-on,” explained Normani.

This isn’t the first time she teased the upcoming release of her debut solo album. During the recent appearance at Soul Train Awards, she told Entertainment Tonight that “summer is gonna be lit”, hinting that’s when she’s planning to release her album.

Normani previously gave us a taste of things to come with her very first solo song “Motivation” from 2019 and dropped the lead single from her upcoming album “Wild Side” ft. Cardi B back in July.
