It’s been two years since Peaky Blinders ended its run, but this won’t be the last we see of Thomas Shelby and the gang. By order of the Peaky Blinders, the sequel film based on the hit crime drama is officially a go at Netflix, with Cillian Murphy returning in the lead role.
Peaky Blinders will reunite some of the creative masterminds who made this series a hit, including its creator Steven Knight and director Tom Harper. He can’t wait to roll up his sleeve and deliver another chapter of the Peaky Blinders story to the show’s loyal fans.
“When I first directed Peaky Blinders over 10 years ago, we didn’t know what the series would become, but we did know that there was something in the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive,” said Harper in a statement.
Oscar winner Cillian Murphy also confirmed his return, saying it’s very gratifying to continue his collaboration with Knight and Harper. Knight echoed his statement and described the sequel film as “an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story”, with no holds barred.
Peaky Blinders film has been in development ever since the original series ended its run in 2022, after six seasons on BBC.
