Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of the most highly-anticipated new shows premiering on Disney+ this year, and we finally know when we’ll get to see it in the flash. Percy Jackson is arriving on Disney+ just in time for Christmas, and the streamer dropped a new teaser to build up hype.

The official synopsis describes this series as “the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt.”

Based on Rick Riordan’s hit fantasy book series, Percy Jackson previously inspired two films led by Logan Lerman, but Disney’s new series is expected to offer a deeper look at the source material. Riordan worked closely with showrunners Jon Steinberg and Dan Shotz to make sure this series is true to his vision, and he’ll serve as its executive producer.

Walker Scobell will play the titular hero this time around, while the supporting cast includes Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Glynn Turman, Virgina Kull, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will feature a total of eight episodes, and the first two will premiere on Disney+ on December 20.
