The Fall’s festival season is slowly heating up, and another major festival recently announced its opening film. Amazon original movie I’m Your Woman starring Rachel Brosnahan is set to open AFI Fest this October.

I’m Your Woman follows the adventures of a young woman forced to go on the run with her baby, after her husband’s crimes put their livelihood in jeopardy. In addition to Brosnahan, this film stars Arinzé Kene, Marsha Stephanie Blake, and Bill Heck.

AFI Festivals’ director Michael Lumpkin released an official statement announcing their pick, and described this ‘70s drama as “cinematic storytelling at its best”.

“With a captivating and complex narrative of a woman on the run, director and writer Julia Hart takes us on unexpected journey that speaks directly to the current state of our world and the real meaning of friendship, love and family,” said Lumpkin.

AFI Fest will take place online between October 15-22, and the rest of the lineup is yet to be announced.
