Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello is releasing a new book titled Whatever It Takes.

The book is a hardback memoir and will be filled with rare photos, handwritten notes and commentary from Morello himself. Readers will get the chance to learn more about Morello’s journey up to and during his time with Rage Against The Machine.

Did you know, for example, that Morello was in his 20’s when he first picked up a guitar? If you’ve been meaning to learn and haven’t got around to it, it’s not too late to pick up a guitar and be a rock star.

“This is a book about a lifelong mission,” Morello shared in a statement. “A mission that more often can be felt rather than articulated. There are clues to the nature of the mission in the guitar riffs, the crazy solos, the lyrics, and in the shared sweat and solidarity of friends and comrades onstage and off.”

The book will be published by Genesis Publications. They are also offering a limited edition version of the book. There will only be 2,000 copies and each will be signed by Morello. This version also contains a 7″ vinyl of the track “Whatever It Takes” and a previously unreleased live recording of “Vigilante Nocturno.”

Whatever It Takes will be released in October this year.
