Apple Music is taking over the Super Bowl halftime show for the first time next year, and they found the perfect person for the inaugural performance. Rihanna is set to headline the 2023 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, taking place in Glendale, Arizona next winter.

After rumors about her headlining spot started swirling online on Sunday, the nine-time Grammy winner decided to take control of the narrative. She confirmed her involvement by posting a photo of herself holding an NFL bowl, and the Super Bowl representatives were quick to officially announce she’s their latest halftime show headliner.

Apple Music and the NFL are joining forces with Roc Nation to bring this show to life, and its founder Jay-Z had nothing but words of praise for the new headliner.

“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment,” said Jay-Z in a statement.

Rihanna will have big shoes to fill on February 12, 2023, when the Super Bowl LVII returns to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. She’s succeeding Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, who served hip-hop extravaganza at the Super Bowl halftime show last year.
