There’s a lot of pressure building on the season 4 opener of Riverdale.

Beloved actor, Luke Perry, tragically passed away in the middle of the show’s third season as the result of a stroke, but his death was never addressed on screen, with showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa vowing to do so when the series returned.

With Riverdale set to premiere on The CW on October 9th, Aguirre-Sacasa is now letting fans know what they can expect.

And yes, tissues will be necessary.

Revealing the title card for episode fifty-eight, the creator confirmed on twitter that it will be called “In Memoriam”.

“Probably the most important episode of Riverdale we’ll do this year, if not ever,” he tweeted. A tribute to our fallen friend.”

Aguirre-Sacasa references the character of the late actor, Fred Andrews, writing: “Thankful for this opportunity to honor Luke and Fred.”
