Bong Joon Ho is currently plotting the follow-up to his Oscar-winning movie Parasite, and he found the perfect actor to play the lead. Robert Pattinson is eyeing the role in the director’s next project, based on Edward Ashton’s upcoming novel Mickey7.

Ashton’s novel will be published later this year, and it centers on the adventures of a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim, who’s constantly being sent on suicide missions that are too dangerous for everyone else. He’s being regenerated after each death, and his life turns upside down when he survives a mission after being presumed dead.

Bong Joon Ho is no stranger to adaptations, and his English-language debut Snowpiercer was based on the popular graphic novel by Jacques Lob. Deadline reports that his version of Mickey7 will most likely be much different from the novel because he has a habit of straying from the source material.

This marks the first project that Pattinson has been officially attached to since finishing the filming of The Batman. Both films are being developed by Warner Bros, and Pattinson is planning to stay in business with this studio since they recently signed a first-look deal.
