Sabrina Carpenter created quite a splash with her latest single “Please Please Please”, and this viral hit helped her reach new heights. It soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 during its second week on the chart, becoming her first single to hit No. 1.
“Please Please Please” attracted 50.9 million official streams, 3.2 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 7,000 sold copies during its second week on the chart. It also hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart and it’s ruling the Billboard Global 200 chart, replacing Carpenter’s own “Espresso” at No. 1.
“Please Please Please” was released on June 6, and it was accompanied by a music video starring Carpenter’s boyfriend, Saltburn star Barry Keoghan. She released several alternative versions to help it rise to No. 1 after initially debuting at No. 2, including an acoustic, a cappella, instrumental, sped-up, and slowed-down version.
“Please Please Please” was released as the second single from Carpenter’s upcoming sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet, following the success of its lead single “Espresso”. This record will hit the shelves on August 23, and Carpenter is planning to promote its release by embarking on a North American headlining tour, taking place from September to November.
