Oh, sesame!

The program which likely taught most of us our alphabet and how to count is getting a new life on the big screen.

Sesame Street has been around since 1969 and has featured hundreds of celebrities doing cameos throughout the years.

The beloved characters of Elmo, Cookie Monster, The Count, Bert and Ernie, and Big Bird will all be making their film debuts in the Warner Bros. feature.

The project has been in the works since 2012, with Mike Rosolio writing the first draft of the screenplay and Chris Galletta penning the most recent draft. Co-creator of Portlandia, Jonathan Krisel, will be helming the film that is being produced by Shawn Levy and Michael Aguilar.

We’ll get to Sesame Street on the 15th of January, 2021.
