Snoop Dogg is swapping the recording studio for the stage.
With 26 years in the music business, it’s almost no surprise that a musical is being made about his life and career.
Entitled Redemption of a Dogg, the stage production will chronicle a character built around the persona of Snoop Dogg — a multifaceted character who is a gangsta rapper, family man, and man of God.
The musical will examine the internal battle one man has between preserving his lifelong legacy and losing the love of his life when he is faced with choosing fame and fortune over faith and family.
Songs from Snoop’s discography will make up the soundtrack, while the 46-year-old will form part of the cast.

Redemption of a Dogg premieres on the 5th of October which also marks the 25th anniversary of the rapper’s debut album, Doggystyle.
