Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis is still fresh in our memory, but another film themed around King of Rock’n’Roll is just around the corner. Sofia Coppola’s new biopic Priscilla shifts focus to Elvis Presley’s wife, and the first teaser starring Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi gave us a taste of things to come.

Coppola’s story about one of the music industry’s most iconic power couples chronicles all the ups and downs they went through over the years—from their meeting in Germany and Priscilla’s move to the US to their dreamy wedding and ultimate separation and divorce.

Coppola’s biopic is based on the 1985 memoir Elvis and Me by Priscilla Presley and Sandra Harmon, and she was captivated by this story ever since reading it for the first time.

“I was just so interested in Priscilla’s story and her perspective on what it all felt like to grow up as a teenager in Graceland. She was going through all the stages of young womanhood in such an amplified world—kinda similar to Marie Antoinette,” the director told Vogue.

Priscilla is expected to hit the theatres in October, and its supporting cast includes Raine Monroe Boland, Emily Mitchell, Dagmara Domińczyk, Jorja Cadence, Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll, and Luke Humphrey.
