The long-awaited second season of Squid Game is coming our way this winter, and the final chapter isn’t too far away. Netflix teased the next season of the Korean drama with a short trailer and announced this series will come to its grand finale in Season 3.

Season 2 of Squid Game will reunite us with Seong Gi-hun/Player 456, who’s trying to put a stop to the vicious game that almost took his life, only to realize that the only way to end is to enter it again.

“Using this fortune to fund his search, Gi-hun starts with the most obvious of places: look for the man in a sharp suit playing ddakji in the subway. But when his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the organization proves to be deadlier than he imagined,” reads the official logline.

Lee Jung-jae will lead the show’s next season, and he’ll be joined by the returning cast members Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, plus the newcomers Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.

Squid Game will return for its second season on Netflix on December 26. Season 3 will premiere in 2025, and the creator Dong-hyuk promised it would be yet another thrill ride.
