The game show Jeopardy! already had Steve Martin’s doppelgänger on their stage. Now they want the real deal and have officially invited the legendary comedian to appear on the show “anytime, in any capacity!”

Jeopardy! recently wrapped up its Professors Tournament that saw Sam Buttrey, professor at Monterey’s Naval Postgraduate School, taking the win and going home with a $100,000 prize. But besides his win and entry to Tournament of Champions, Buttrey also made the headlines for being Martin’s lookalike. Both men have white hair and wear glasses while also sharing a number of facial features.

Martin himself noticed the similarities and even acknowledged it on social media. He retweeted a post from Jeopardy! official Twitter account that celebrated Buttrey’s win and wrote, “So great to split the prize money with Sam!”

Jeopardy! was quick to respond to Martin, saying that they would love to have him on the show.

It remains to be seen if Martin actually decides to accept the invite. The actor is currently busy working on new episodes of his Hulu comedy Only Murders in the Building. The show, which premiered earlier this year, is a huge success and has got Martin a Golden Globes nomination for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
