BTS dominated the charts and broke several major records this year with their hit song “Butter”, and they’re now busy reaping the fruits of their labor. The list of American Music Awards winners is here, and the K-pop band topped it with awards in three major categories.

BTS managed to beat the likes of Ariana Grande, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd to be crowned as the artist of the year at the AMAs. They also walked away with trophies for the best pop duo or group and favorite pop song with “Butter”.

Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion were also among the major winners, with three awards each. Doja dominated the R&B categories and collected the award for collaboration of the year with “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA, while Stallion conquered the hip-hop field and won the trophy for the favorite trending song with “Body”.

Olivia Rodrigo, who topped the list of nominees with seven nods, managed to pick up one award—the new artist of the year. It was also a big night for Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Gabby Barrett, who collected two awards each.

The American Music Awards returned to LA’s Microsoft Theater on November 21st, with Cardi B hosting the show for the first time.

Olivia Rodrigo took the world by storm with her debut album Sour and major award nominations are coming her way. She topped the list of nominees for the American Music Awards with nods in seven different categories.

Rodrigo will be competing against Ariana Grande, BTS, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd in the biggest award of the night—artists of the year. She’s also in contention for the new artists of the year award. Her breakout song “Drivers License” is in the running in three different categories—favorite music video, favorite trending song, and favorite pop song. She’s also nominated for favorite female pop artist and favorite pop album with Sour.

The Weeknds is right behind Rodrigo with a total of six nominations, followed by Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, and Giveon with five.

We’ll see who’ll be crowned as the big winner when the American Music Awards take place on November 21st at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Dua Lipa just announced the 2020 American Music Award nominees on Good Morning America and The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch lead nominations with eight including Artist of the Year.

Megan Thee Stallion, a first-time nominee, is next with five, and she’s the most nominated female artist of the year with nominations for New Artist of the Year and Collaboration of the Year.

Bad Bunny, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift are tied with four.

The other nominees for Artist of the Year are Justin Bieber, Post Malone, and Taylor Swift. Swift currently holds the record for the most wins in the category with five and she holds the most AMAs wins with 29.

The show’s set to air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles November 22.

Dua Lipa just announced the 2020 American Music Award nominees on Good Morning America and The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch lead nominations with eight including Artist of the Year.

Megan Thee Stallion, a first-time nominee, is next with five, and she’s the most nominated female artist of the year with nominations for New Artist of the Year and Collaboration of the Year.

Bad Bunny, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift are tied with four.

The other nominees for Artist of the Year are Justin Bieber, Post Malone, and Taylor Swift. Swift currently holds the record for the most wins in the category with five and she holds the most AMAs wins with 29.

The show’s set to air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles November 22.
