]]>This biopic hails from the writing duo Lou Howe and Todd Bartels, with Matt Johnson coming on board as a director. A24 is in negotiations to acquire the package from Star Thrower Entertainment. Trevor White and Tim White would produce the project under the Star Thrower banner, along with Johnson and Matthew Miller, while Emily Rose joins them as executive producer.
Dominic Sessa is eying the lead role in this project, after receiving multiple nominations and accolades for his debut role in Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers. He’s attached to several more projects, including Now You See Me 3, and Christmas film Oh. What. Fun., and Stephanie Laing’s drama Tow.
Anthony Bourdain spent the ’80s and ’90s working as a chef for the top Manhattan restaurants, but his point-blank essays in The New Yorker eventually made him a star. He went on to become a beloved celebrity chef and travel documentarian and found success as the host of No Reservations and Parts Unknown before his tragic death by suicide in 2018.
