]]>Black Mirror was one of Netflix’s shows highlighted during the recent Geeked Week, and its creator Charlie Brooker promised that the show’s next season would go back to basics.
“You can expect a mix of genres and styles. We’ve got six episodes this time, and two of them are basically feature-length. Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional,” Brooker told the audience.
He also confirmed the return of the cult episode USS Callister, which was teased by Netflix earlier this year. Billy Magnussen, Jimmi Simpson, Cristin Milioti, and Milanka Brooks will return as a part of its ensemble.
In addition to this amazing quartet, Season 7 will also welcome 15 newcomers to the Black Mirror universe, including such acclaimed actors as Issa Rae (Insecure), Awkwafina (The Farewell), Emma Corrin (The Crown), Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), and Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers).
Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), Chris O’Dowd (The Big Door Prize), Patsy Ferran (Life After Life), Lewis Gribben (Somewhere Boy), Osy Ikhile (Citadel), Siena Kelly (Adult Material), Rosy McEwen (The Alienist), Harriet Walter (Succession), and Paul G. ]]>The Crown didn’t make it to the best drama series field, losing the nomination to The Gold, Happy Valley, Slow Horses, and Top Boy, but that didn’t stop it from topping the list of nominees.
It scored four nods in the acting field, thanks to the amazing performances of its stars Dominic West, Elizabeth Debecki, Lesley Manville, and Salim Daw. It’s also one of the main contenders in the craft categories with four additional nods, such as best costume design, makeup and hair design, sound, and special effects.
As for Black Mirror, Netflix’s anthology series owes its seven nominations to the final Season 6 episode “Demon 79”. It’s one of the contenders for best limited drama, while its leading lady Anjana Vasan secured a nomination for the best leading actress.
The 2024 British Academy Television Awards winners will be announced from the Royal Festival Hall in London on May 12. BBC One will handle live broadcast and they’re yet to announce this year’s host.

]]>The short teaser trailer keeps all the major plot points under wraps, but it still managed to get us excited for Season 6 by giving us a first glimpse at the cast, which includes the likes of Aaron Paul, Annie Murphy, Ben Barnes, Himesh Patel, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, and Zazie Beetz.
Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker added some more fuel to the fire by sharing some exciting details with Netflix and described the upcoming season as the most unpredictable one yet.
“I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect… The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through — but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before,” said Brooker in a statement.
Black Mirror initially premiered on Channel 4 in 2011 before moving to Netflix with its third season. The show’s depiction of technology’s impact on society drew comparisons to The Twilight Zone, and its episodes San Junipero, USS Callister, and the interactive movie Bandersnatch all won the Emmy for an outstanding television movie.

The “choose your own adventure” format follows a young man named Stefan Butler (played by Fionn Whitehead of Dunkirk) who is developing a video game based on the “choose your own adventure” book, Bandersnatch.
The company that hires him, Tuckersoft, may be fictional, but the creators behind Black Mirror have created something real.
They have released an official website for Tuckersoft where visitors can play a video game featured in the episode.
Nohzdyve allows players to collect eyeballs and avoid buildings while falling through the sky — all with very ‘80s graphics.

]]>The short teaser trailer keeps all the major plot points under wraps, but it still managed to get us excited for Season 6 by giving us a first glimpse at the cast, which includes the likes of Aaron Paul, Annie Murphy, Ben Barnes, Himesh Patel, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, and Zazie Beetz.
Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker added some more fuel to the fire by sharing some exciting details with Netflix and described the upcoming season as the most unpredictable one yet.
“I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect… The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through — but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before,” said Brooker in a statement.
Black Mirror initially premiered on Channel 4 in 2011 before moving to Netflix with its third season. The show’s depiction of technology’s impact on society drew comparisons to The Twilight Zone, and its episodes San Junipero, USS Callister, and the interactive movie Bandersnatch all won the Emmy for an outstanding television movie.

The “choose your own adventure” format follows a young man named Stefan Butler (played by Fionn Whitehead of Dunkirk) who is developing a video game based on the “choose your own adventure” book, Bandersnatch.
The company that hires him, Tuckersoft, may be fictional, but the creators behind Black Mirror have created something real.
They have released an official website for Tuckersoft where visitors can play a video game featured in the episode.
Nohzdyve allows players to collect eyeballs and avoid buildings while falling through the sky — all with very ‘80s graphics.
