]]>The newly-minted Oscar winner has been confirmed to star as the villain in the forthcoming Bond flick, which will signify the super spy’s 25th outing on screen.
“I promise you all I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing,” he said.
Producers of Bond 25, as it is still called, released a promo video from series creator Ian Fleming’s lavish Golden Eye estate in Jamaica, where the film will be set.
Daniel Craig’s final appearance as 007 will begin in Jamaica, where he has retired from active service and is enjoying a tranquil life. All that changes when his friend from the FBI (played by Jeffrey Wright) shows up asking for help in rescuing a kidnapped scientist.
Ana De Armas and Lashana Lynch will be starring as the latest Bond girls in a cast that also includes Ralph Fiennes, Ben Winshaw, Naomie Harris, Léa Seydoux, Rory Kinnear, Billy Magnusson, Dali Benssalah, and David Dencik.
Cary Joji Fukunaga will direct the film which opens on the 8th of April, 2020.

]]>Trainspotting director, Danny Boyle, was set to helm Bond 25 but dropped out last month due to creative differences, leaving the fate of the project in jeopardy.
As Danny and his collaborator had penned the script, producers were also forced to find new writers for the film which will be the last starring Daniel Craig as 007.
Longtime Bond screenwriters, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade, have now been hired to write the screenplay, while Cary Joji Fukunaga has been brought on to direct.
Fukunaga, who has previously directed season one of True Detective and Beasts of No Name starring (the possible future James Bond) Idris Elba, will be the first American to direct part of the franchise.
Producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have praised Fukunaga’s “versatility and innovation”.
