So, it makes sense that humanitarian activist and United Nations special envoy Angelina Jolie will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil actress is in discussions to join The Eternals, a movie about a group of super powerful, near-immortal beings called the Celestials.

Indie filmmaker Chloé Zhao, who brought us The Rider and Songs My Brother Taught Us, will be helming the project based on characters created by Stan Lee’s partner Jack Kirby.

The plot of the superhero film is expected to include a love story between Ikaris — a man fueled by cosmic energy — and Sersi, who relishes moving among humans. It is believed that Angelina could take on the role of the latter.
