]]> Coldplay gave us nine amazing albums so far and we should cherish every second of them because it seems we won’t be getting many more. Frontman Chris Martin recently discussed the band’s future and hinted they’re thinking of taking a break from making music.

Martin recently did an interview with the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and mentioned they’re probably soon stop recording new albums, but that doesn’t mean they’ll completely retire.

“Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour. Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalog as it were finishes then,” explained Martin.

It’s not unusual for bands with a rich catalog to take a break from recording music and commit to touring, and rumors of Coldplay’s potential hiatus have been circling around for quite some time. Taking a break in 2025 would make total sense since it would mark the 25th anniversary of their debut album Parachutes and the band’s next album would be their tenth.

Coldplay’s latest LP Music of the Spheres hit the shelves earlier this year and produced No. 1 single “My Universe” ft. BTS. They’re expected to promote it with a world tour in 2022.
