Clarke also wrote 2001: A Space Odyssey, which he adapted into a movie with Stanley Kubrick. Villeneuve’s work has also been linked to Kubrick, specifically his sci-fi Arrival.

Villeneuve will be working on a follow-up to Dune, adapting the first half of Frank Herbert’s sprawling novel.
