After months of anticipation, the Academy Awards nominations have finally been unveiled this Thursday, and the list of contenders is one for the books. After dominating the majority of the awards season, Emilia Pérez will enter the Oscars with 13 nods, but Wicked and The Brutalist are right behind with 10 nominations each.

The hit crime musical is one of the main contenders for the best picture award, but taking it home won’t be easy. Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked are also in the running for this coveted prize.

Emilia Pérez also managed to break into many of the main categories of the night, including best director for Jacques Audiard and acting nods for its stars Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña. It’s also in the running for multiple technical and creative awards, starting with best editing, sound, and original song.

In addition to Emilia Pérez, the list of major contenders at the upcoming Academy Awards also includes the hit musical Wicked and the period drama The Brutalist with 10 nods, plus the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown and the Papal thriller Conclave with eight nominations each.

The 2025 Academy Awards will return to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2, with Conan O’Brien hosting the show for the first time.

Conclave is slowly growing into one of the major award season contenders, and it just topped the list of nominees at another ceremony. The British Academy announced the BAFTA Awards nominations this Wednesday, and the acclaimed Papal thriller is leading the way with 12 nods.

Conclave will enter the ceremony as one of the contenders for the best film prize, along with Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, and Emilia Pérez. It’s also been nominated for outstanding British film, where the list of contenders also includes Bird, Blitz, Gladiator 2, and Hard Truths.

Conclave stars Ralph Fiennes and Isabella Rossellini received nominations for their performances in their respective categories. The list of major acting contenders also includes the recent Golden Globe winners Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Demi Moore (The Substance), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez).

After topping the BAFTA shortlist with 15 potential nods, Emilia Pérez will enter this year’s ceremony with 11 nominations. It’s followed by The Brutalist with nine nominations, and Anora, Dune: Part Two, and Wicked with seven each.

The 2025 BAFTA Awards will return to the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 16, with David Tennant hosting the ceremony.

After months of anticipation, the Golden Globe Awards made their grand return on Sunday night and set the tone for the rest of the awards season. Emilia Pérez led the way with four awards, closely followed by The Brutalist with three, while Shōgun dominated the TV categories.

After coming into the night with ten nods, the musical crime drama Emilia Pérez managed to walk away with four trophies, including best motion picture – musical or comedy. It was also named the best non-English language film and won awards for the best supporting actress in a motion picture for Zoe Saldaña and best original song for “El Mal”.

It was also a night to remember for the creative team behind the period drama The Brutalist, which walked away with three awards. It was named best motion picture – drama, and won awards for best director (Brady Corbet) and best performance by an actor in a motion picture – drama (Adrien Brody).

As for the television categories, Shōgun managed to win all four awards it was nominated for, including best television series – drama. It was closely followed by Hacks and  Baby Reindeer with two awards each, including best television series – comedy or musical and best limited series, respectively.

The 2025 Golden Globe Awards returned to The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on January 5, with Nikki Glaser hosting the festivities.

After months of anticipation, the Academy Awards nominations have finally been unveiled this Thursday, and the list of contenders is one for the books. After dominating the majority of the awards season, Emilia Pérez will enter the Oscars with 13 nods, but Wicked and The Brutalist are right behind with 10 nominations each.

The hit crime musical is one of the main contenders for the best picture award, but taking it home won’t be easy. Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked are also in the running for this coveted prize.

Emilia Pérez also managed to break into many of the main categories of the night, including best director for Jacques Audiard and acting nods for its stars Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña. It’s also in the running for multiple technical and creative awards, starting with best editing, sound, and original song.

In addition to Emilia Pérez, the list of major contenders at the upcoming Academy Awards also includes the hit musical Wicked and the period drama The Brutalist with 10 nods, plus the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown and the Papal thriller Conclave with eight nominations each.

The 2025 Academy Awards will return to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2, with Conan O’Brien hosting the show for the first time.

Conclave is slowly growing into one of the major award season contenders, and it just topped the list of nominees at another ceremony. The British Academy announced the BAFTA Awards nominations this Wednesday, and the acclaimed Papal thriller is leading the way with 12 nods.

Conclave will enter the ceremony as one of the contenders for the best film prize, along with Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, and Emilia Pérez. It’s also been nominated for outstanding British film, where the list of contenders also includes Bird, Blitz, Gladiator 2, and Hard Truths.

Conclave stars Ralph Fiennes and Isabella Rossellini received nominations for their performances in their respective categories. The list of major acting contenders also includes the recent Golden Globe winners Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Demi Moore (The Substance), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez).

After topping the BAFTA shortlist with 15 potential nods, Emilia Pérez will enter this year’s ceremony with 11 nominations. It’s followed by The Brutalist with nine nominations, and Anora, Dune: Part Two, and Wicked with seven each.

The 2025 BAFTA Awards will return to the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 16, with David Tennant hosting the ceremony.

After months of anticipation, the Golden Globe Awards made their grand return on Sunday night and set the tone for the rest of the awards season. Emilia Pérez led the way with four awards, closely followed by The Brutalist with three, while Shōgun dominated the TV categories.

After coming into the night with ten nods, the musical crime drama Emilia Pérez managed to walk away with four trophies, including best motion picture – musical or comedy. It was also named the best non-English language film and won awards for the best supporting actress in a motion picture for Zoe Saldaña and best original song for “El Mal”.

It was also a night to remember for the creative team behind the period drama The Brutalist, which walked away with three awards. It was named best motion picture – drama, and won awards for best director (Brady Corbet) and best performance by an actor in a motion picture – drama (Adrien Brody).

As for the television categories, Shōgun managed to win all four awards it was nominated for, including best television series – drama. It was closely followed by Hacks and  Baby Reindeer with two awards each, including best television series – comedy or musical and best limited series, respectively.

The 2025 Golden Globe Awards returned to The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on January 5, with Nikki Glaser hosting the festivities.
