Grendel will be based on John Gardner’s critically acclaimed novel of the same name, and it retells the epic poem Beowulf from the perspective of Grendel, the giant monster at its heart. He’s usually represented as a giant and a destroyer and devourer of humankind.

Robert D. Krzykowski will be in charge of directing this film, and he was drawn to it because it represents everything he loves about the movies.

“John Gardner’s mad masterpiece cleverly tackles what it is to be human through the wild-eyed lens of a monster. It’s an honor to work with such a remarkable group of storytellers, all of whom seek to bring something wonderful and unexpected to audiences now,” Krzykowski said in a statement.

The Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges will be in charge of leading this project, and he’ll be in pretty good company. The supporting cast of Grendel will include Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Beowulf, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as King Hrothgar, Sam Elliott (A Star is Born) as the Dragon, Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho) as Queen Wealhtheow, Aidan Turner (The Hobbit) as Unferth, and musician T Bone Burnett as the Shaper.

With the Super Bowl just around the corner, companies are readying their outrageous adverts, which will be shown during the prime time event.

One such ad is from Stella Artois, which has decided to put together some of our favorite characters (however unlikely that may be).

The beer company proves it is the drink of choice, even causing Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City (hi, Sarah Jessica Parker!) and The Dude to forgo their signature cosmopolitan and White Russian, respectively, with which they are associated.

Let’s hope that the nostalgia of seeing Jeff in his Big Lebowski attire prompts the Coen Brothers to finally make that long-awaited sequel.

The award is named after legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille who made over 70 feature films throughout his career and was the first recipient of the lifetime achievement award which was later named in his honor.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has now announced the recipient of the 2019 Cecil B. DeMille Award as none other than Jeff Bridges.

The 69 year old has been nominated for 5 Golden Globes, winning one for Crazy Heart, for which he also won an Oscar.

“Bridges’ brilliant body of work across diverse genres has captured the hearts and minds of audiences worldwide for more than six decades. We look forward to celebrating ‘the Dude’ and his remarkable career and philanthropic achievements at the upcoming Golden Globe Awards,” said HFPA president Meher Tatna.

Bridges will receive his award at the 76th Golden Globes on January 6th, 2019.
