]]> John Legend is heading to This Is Us.

Multiple outlets confirm that the singer-songwriter is set to guest-star on NBC’s hit family drama. 

News of Legend’s appearance was revealed in a promo for the second half of Season 4 that aired during the Golden Globes on Sunday. 

While his role has yet to be confirmed, the clip shows Legend looking dapper as usual at the piano, so it’s fair to assume he will be playing himself in the show. 

Legend joins other guest stars confirmed for Season 4 of This Is Us, including Omar Epps, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Tim Matheson, and Timothy Omundson in addition to Sylvester Stallone, Ron Howard and M. Night Shyamalan who played themselves. 

This Is Us returns Tuesday, January 14th.

Despite being British, the “Anywhere” singer was asked to perform at this year’s annual Macy’s Parade, which takes place each Thanksgiving. And the 27 year old has been accused of lip-syncing while performing atop of her float.

Following the backlash, Macy’s sought to apologize: “During today’s NBC broadcast of the #MacysParade⁠ ⁠ several recording artists experienced technical difficulties that negatively impacted their performance. We apologize and want fans to know these issues were out of the artist’s control.”

Rita maintained her dignity and retweeted the statement, politely adding, “Thank you and I appreciate the honesty and I hope everyone still had a great time.”

She further declared that she does not lip sync:

Now fellow singer John Legend has also come to Rita’s defense by informing the Twitterverse that floats are not cut our for live performances:

“Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don’t have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance. Hope y’all enjoyed it anyway. Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100% live!”

I guess that’s something to be thankful for.
