Director Colin Trevorrow announced on Twitter that there were positive coronavirus tests and that production would be paused for two weeks, “Woke up to the news we had a few positive Coronavirus tests on Jurassic World: Dominion. All tested negative shortly after, but due to our safety protocols, we’re going to pause for two weeks. Back soon.”

This news comes just a day after Universal pushed back the release date of the film from Summer 2021 to June 10, 2022.

Jurassic World: Dominion, the sixth entry in the 27-year-old series, had just begun production in the U.K. when the pandemic started spreading across Europe in March. After being shut down for a month, the film was one of the first to resume filming.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are reprising their roles and the rest of the cast includes Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and BD Wong.

Director Colin Trevorrow shared a photo from the set to mark the first day of filming revealing the feature’s official title — Jurassic World: Dominion.

The sixth film in the Jurassic franchise is the next chapter in the humans versus dinosaurs epic and is expected to feature the aftermath of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, when dinosaurs escaped captivity. 

Trevorrow will direct from a script he co-wrote with Emily Carmichael from a story by Derek Connolly.

Jurassic World: Dominion will feature franchise stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill are set to reprise their roles from the 1993 original film. Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda will also return.
