Urban and Lambert are the first performers to be announced for country music’s biggest night. Urban will also be hosting the 2020 AMCs, taking over from Reba McEntire.

Lambert will perform with fellow nominated artists Lindsay Ell, Caylee Hammack, Elle King, Ashley McBryde and Tenille Townes for a live television premiere performance of “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.”

The Academy of Country Music also released a press released in light of the rising fears of the Coronavirus: “The Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark productions remain committed to serving fans and our Country Music community by producing THE 55TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS… We are closely monitoring the situation along with the MGM team, who are in continuous contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Southern Nevada Health District, and other agencies and experts for guidance. We will take every precaution to ensure the safety of our artists, staff, crew, guests and attendees.”

The CMA Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on April 5th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The former American Idol judge announced his first Las Vegas Residency and it begins early next year. 

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will serve as the scene for a series of 12 shows, allowing Urban to join country greats such as Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, and Lady Antebellum. 

The “We Were” singer is also no stranger to the venue as he performed a gig there in September of this year.

Keith Urban Live — Las Vegas has been touted as “packed with hit songs, explosive showmanship, and usual unpredictability.”

The residency will launch with 4 performances in January 2020, with the country singer then returning in April, July, and August, before wrapping things up in November.

January 2020: 10, 11, 17, 18

April 2020: 24, 25

July 2020: 10, 11

August 2020: 7, 8

November 2020: 20, 21
