Even before Quinta Brunson and Anderson .Paak hopped on board, this musical was one star-studded affair. Kelvin Harrison Jr. will lead its ensemble cast, which also includes Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Halle Bailey, Brian Tyree Henry, Missy Elliott, Janelle Monáe, Tim Meadows, Jaboukie Young-White, Jamilah Rosemond, and Jayson Lee.

Brunson is fresh off starring in the third season of ABC’s acclaimed workplace sitcom Abbott Elementary, which already received a Season 4 renewal. She won an Emmy for her lead role in this series earlier this year, and she also serves as its creator and writer.

As for Anderson .Paak, the eight-time Grammy winner hasn’t released a solo studio album since Ventura in 2019, but he found success as a part of the musical duo Silk Sonic alongside Bruno Mars, winning Grammys for record and song of the year with “Leave the Door Open”.
