]]>Saturday Night is based on a true story of what happened behind the scenes in the 90 minutes leading up to the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live in 1975. It centers on “a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television – and culture – forever”, giving us the magic of a revolution that almost wasn’t.
Saturday Night will feature a star-studded ensemble cast led by Gabriel LaBelle as Lorne Michaels, plus Rachel Sennott, Cory Michael Smith, Ella Hunt, Dylan O’Brien, Emily Fairn, Matt Wood, Lamorne Morris, Kim Matula, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Braun, Cooper Hoffman, Andrew Barth Feldman, Kaia Gerber, Tommy Dewey, Willem Dafoe, Matthew Rhys, and J. K. Simmons in supporting roles.
Jason Reitman directed the film and co-wrote the script alongside Gil Kenan, and they’re both producing it alongside Jason Blumenfeld and Peter Rice. Saturday Night will be released by Sony Pictures on October 11, which marks the 49th anniversary of the iconic NBC show.

]]>The Christmas-themed episode saw Tom Hanks and Tina Fey leading the ceremony for Rudd’s induction. Hanks and Fey, members of the “Five-Timers Club” themselves, came on stage wearing matching robes decorated with a golden “5” at the front.
SNL cast member Kenan Thompson also got on stage in order to present Rudd with his own robe. While handing the robe to Rudd, Thompson jokingly congratulated the actor for hosting the SNL “4 ½” times, alluding to the fact that the episode was taped without an audience and with limited crew due to health and safety protocols.
Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short also joined the festivities via pre-recorded video message, although not in a way Rudd hoped. Martin continuously talked about Tom Hanks, while bad editing tried to cover up his missteps and make the entire thing even more amusing.
Saturday Night Live is currently in its 47th season. After Paul Rudd-hosted episode, the show will go on a break before returning with new episodes in late January.

]]>A former star of the sketch show, Adam Sandler, will be making his hosting debut on the 4th of May, joined by Shawn Mendes, who will be making his sophomore appearance as musical guest.
The following week will see the newly reunited Jonas Brothers prove how cool they are by rocking the stage, while Emma Thompson will bring her delightfully British wit and charm as host.
SNL has also announced that Paul Rudd will be taking over the shutdown shift as he hosts the season finale.
The Avengers: Endgame actor will likely have to field many questions about the Marvel film during his 4th appearance at Rockefeller Center. And hopefully Thanos won’t show up.
Someone who is expected to show up is DJ Khaled. The music producer has signed on as the musical guest for the May 18 episode.
Consider our calendars marked.
