]]>The post “Spider-Man: No Way Home” Crosses One Billion Mark appeared first on thestarsworldwide.com.
]]>No Way Home hit the theatres in the US on December 17th and it took it less than two weeks to reach this milestone. To make the whole thing even more impressive, it’s one of only a few movies of the modern era to ever reach $1 billion without premiering in China.
No Way Home is the third-fastest title in history to cross a one billion mark on the global box office, after Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. It’s not the only major record where it trails behind other Marvel movies. It also had the second-highest opening day and second-highest domestic box office opening behind Endgame.
Spider-Man: No Way Home sees Peter Parker (Tom Holland) face many hardships after his identity as Spider-Man is revealed to the entire world. He asks Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to reverse the past, but his botched spell breaks open the multiverse and invites many familiar faces into Parker’s world.

]]>No Way Home opened in theaters on December 17 as a follow-up to 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. After his secret identity was revealed in the previous movie, Peter Parker enlists Doctor Strange for help, and he ends up breaking the multiverse open in the process.
Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch reprised their roles from the previous MCU movies, alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Marisa Tomei. Several villains from the previous Spider-Man movies also make a comeback, including Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, and Alfred Molina.
No Way Home scored a $587.2 million debut—the third biggest in history behind Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War. It’s close to crossing Infinity War’s domestic box office numbers, with $253 million grossed in the United States and Canada. It also earned $334.2 million in other territories.
No Way Home will be followed by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, set to premiere on May 6th, 2022. Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever are also set to hit the theaters next year.

]]>The post “Spider-Man: No Way Home” Expecting $150 Million-Plus Debut appeared first on thestarsworldwide.com.
]]>The film’s distributor Sony Pictures predicts that it will earn a three-day tally closer to $130 million. And some box office prognosticators are expecting it to earn near $175 million.
Spider-Man: No Way Home could be the first pandemic-era movie to gross $100 million in a single weekend. Only one film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, has come close to hitting that figure, with $90 million domestically.
The movie could be the biggest debut since 2019 and the best start for Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy after 2017’s Homecoming opened at $117 million and 2019’s Far From Home made $92 million. 2007’s Spider-Man 3 starring Tobey Maguire opened at $151 million, making it the biggest Spider-Man opening weekend in history.
Globally, Homecoming grossed $880 million and Far From Home reached $1 billion.
The third chapter in Holland’s trilogy is directed by Jon Watts and it takes place after Peter Parker’s identity is revealed to the world. Parker, desperate for a new normal, asks for Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) help and he winds up in a multiverse, which has tons of villains from past timelines. The villains include Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Otto Octavius.
