But when The Middle came to an end, and it was announced that a spin-off would be created around Sue, things started looking up.
The series was set to follow Sue — now in her twenties and still played by Eden Sher — as she leaves the small town of Orson and tries to adult in Chicago.
It now appears, however, that Sue Sue in the City might not be going ahead…
According to Deadline, ABC has opted not to pick up the series.
It is possible that the project might be shopped by producing studio Warner Bros. TV.
