“The Empty Man” Trailer: A Group of Teens Unleash a Demon

James Badge Dale in "The Empty Man"

20th Century Studios has pushed back the release so many times, that many of us forgot it was even in the works until now but the first trailer for The Empty Man starring James Badge Dale has finally been released just ahead of its debut next week.

Based on the graphic novel by writer Cullen Bunn and artist Vanesa R. Del Rey, the supernatural horror film is the feature debut for writer-director David Prior, and it follows a retired cop (James Badge Dale) who’s looking into an urban legend that the locals of a Midwestern town believe is responsible for the disappearance of teens.

In the trailer we see the teens try to conjure up the legend. “On the first night, you hear him. And on the second night, you see him … Well on the third night, he finds you,” a girl says in the trailer.

Marin Ireland, Stephen Root, Ron Canada, Robert Aramayo, Joel Courtney, and Sasha Frolova also star in the film.

The Empty Man hits theaters on October 23.
