The cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is getting back together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this iconic ’90s sitcom with an unscripted reunion special.

The special, which is set to air on HBO Max, will see the star of the show Will Smith and the rest of the regular cast Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian Banks), Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks, and Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey Butler), talk about the impact that The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air made and reminiscing about their experience working on the series. DJ Jazzy Jeff, who portrayed Will’s quirky best friend Jazz is also set to make an appearance.

The reunion is set to take place on September 10th, exactly 30 years since the pilot aired. According to the press release, it will include a “funny and heartfelt night full of music, dancing, and special surprise guests”. The air date is still to be determined, but HBO Max plans to get out the episode “around Thanksgiving”.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air starred Will Smith as a fictionalized version of himself and had a run of six seasons and 148 episodes between 1990 and 1996. The past couple of years saw an increased interest in the series, leading to plans for reboot and spinoff.

The reboot is reportedly already in the works and will be based on a fan-made trailer Bel-Air, which was written and directed by Morgan Cooper. There is also an interest for the spinoff, backed by Smith’s production company, but it is unclear where the project stands at the moment.
