After a lot of anticipation, The Idol is finally coming to HBO this spring, and we finally have some more info about this project. The musical drama starring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp will premiere in June, and the new teaser gave us a taste of things to come.

The new trailer is set to the beat of Britney Spears’s “Gimme More”, which is an excellent choice given the show’s premise. The Idol centers on a rising star Jocelyn, who was forced to cancel her last tour in the face of a major nervous breakdown.

Her passion for music is reignited by Tedros, a nightclub impresario with a sordid past, but their connection leaves everyone wondering if he’ll take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul.

The show’s supporting cast includes Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Kim, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, and Hank Azaria.

Euphoria’s Sam Levinson co-created the series alongside Reza Fahim and The Weeknd and directed all episodes after Amy Seimetz dropped out due to creative differences. The Idol will feature a total of six episodes and it will premiere on HBO on June 4.
